Leveling 5TH Wheel Trailer For Towing Purposes That Will Not Create Door Height Problems
Updated 06/27/2021 | Published 06/25/2021 >
Question:
I have a fifth wheel cargo trailer 32foot that rides a bit lower in the rear than the front. I am looking at options to correct this. I have considered simply raising the ride height by flippinginch the axles, but then the rear door level will be quite high for loading. I am looking for recommendations on mods that would give me and adjustable right height of somewhere around 6.

First I recommend looking at the clearance that you have on your bed rails to the 5th wheel trailer. I have seen hitches adjusted higher than they need to be. You want to have 5-6" of clearance when parked on flat ground. If you have more than that you can either lower your hitch height or look at adjusting your pin box to lower it and level your trailer.
If you do not have adjustment available the next step would be to install the Lippert Center Point by Trailair # LC1565391 that will raise your suspension on average 2". This system will also provide a much better ride for your camper.
To be able to have an adjustable suspension that would entail having a custom hydraulic or air suspension system fabricated for your trailer. This is not an off the shelf solution as there would be a lot of customization done to allow the trailer to support the weight that it needs to while having an adjustable suspension.
