Best Way To Touch Up Scratches On B&W Companion 5th Wheel Hitch

I hooked up my trailer and forgot to put the lube plate on, scratching the top of the hitch. I was wondering if there is a paint color number or a place to buy paint to touch the hitch up Thanks Joe

Hey Joe, thanks for reaching out.

I’m not aware of a specific factory paint code from B&W for touch-ups, but you can get it looking good again pretty easily. A can of flat or semi-gloss gray Rust-Oleum or a similar rust-preventative spray paint will blend in well with the factory finish. I’d lightly sand the scratched area to smooth it out and remove any loose coating, wipe it clean, then apply a couple light coats.

It won’t be quite as thick as the original powder coat, but it will protect the bare metal and keep rust from starting. And if you need one, the Curt lube plate # 16721 is a good one to have on hand so it doesn’t happen again.
