Question:

I bought the Rhino rack with Aero bars for my camper shell, but its only a 57inch bed and when I pull my camper, need to scoot my kayaks forward on the rack. I really need a single bar closer to the windshield now to work with the the bars already installed on the shell. Have anything like that?

I have a solution for you. Unfortunately, the Rhino-Rack Roof Rack for Factory Tracks - 2 Vortex Aero Crossbars - Black - 54" Long # Y02-480B-NT will not fit your bare roof on your 2017 RAM 1500. If you need a a single accessible front crossbar closer to the windshield on your 2017 RAM 1500 crew cab for you bare roof, you will need the following parts:

- Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbar - Aluminum - Black - 59" Long # RRVA150B
- Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Legs for Vortex Aero Crossbars - Naked Roofs or Fixed Mounting Points - Qty 2 # RRRLKVAH
- Custom DK Fit Kit for 2 Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Roof Rack Legs - Naked Roof # DK043H

Once you purchase these parts, you can position the crossbar as close to the windshield as possible in order to accommodate your camper shell with your kayaks. The only concern with this system is that the crossbars sit about 4 inches above your cab's roof. If you have a camper shell that extends onto the cab and creates extra height, I recommend measuring to make sure that the height of 4 inches will accommodate kayaks on the front bar without unnecessary tilting.
