Review of Rhino Rack Roof Rack RRVA150B

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Rhino Rack Vortex Arrow Crossbar with a matte black finish. This is a sleek, aerodynamic, low profile crossbar that's going to let you build an after market roof rack for your vehicle. That way you can easily haul your roof mounted accessories. This is going to require your Rhino Rack legs, and a custom fit kit to fit your vehicle. Those items are sold separately. If you're in need you can find them here at etrailer.com. Again, this is a slim, elliptical crossbar shape that's really going to help create an extremely aerodynamic system.

The full length bar is going to extend past your roof rack leg, which is going to help maximize space for your carriers and accessories. Along the top of the bar it's going to feature a nice top channel. That's going to let you add channel mounted carriers and accessories to your roof rack. This will also accept most clamp on accessories as it would mount conveniently around the bars. The bar is designed to accept most roof mounted accessories that are designed for aero and eliptical roof racks. Here on top we're going to have the rubberized vortex strips in the top channel.

These are really going to help dramatically reduce drag and wind noise. This is going to have a multi-piece design, so the vortex strips are going to come in different pieces. That way it allows for easier installation of those accessories. Got the end caps included and the strips can just be removed or trimmed and then replaced once you have your accessories in that top channel. They're also going to assist when it comes to keeping dirt and grime out of the crossbar, and they're going to provide a nice cushion as well as slip resistance for your cargo that you have mounted on top of the bar. Here on the bottom, you can see right here, it's going to have a bottom channel and it's going to have this ruler that goes in the channel. This is going to help center your crossbar onto your roof, and it's going to help insure proper leg placement when you have this installed on your vehicle.

Now, when you install the leg kit the rulers will actually need to be trimmed or cut. Once the leg kit is installed you can actually place the ruler strips, one on each side of that leg kit, to fill the space here in the channel. That's going to help further reduce wind noise during travel. I just wanted you to see that it does have that ruler down there that really allows for an easier installation and correct placement of that leg kit as well as making sure the bar is centered on the vehicle. Same setup here on the opposite side of the bar. Again, they do include the end caps.

The end caps go directly here at the end of the bar, and it's going to have a lockable design. The way that this comes to you is, it's going to have plastic lock cores with these universal keys. You just rotate it. That's really going to help deter theft of your accessories. The end caps can be upgraded to all metal locks, so that plastic lock can be upgraded an all metal lock for added security. Your metal locks are going to be sold separately. The other thing I want to point out is that these bars are made from a lightweight, structural grade anodized aluminum, so they're going to be corrosion resistant as well as rust proof. It's going to feature the internal H shaped extrusion. That's going to provide exceptional bar strength. When it comes to the weight capacity we're looking at 165 pound weight capacity when used as a 2 bar system. You always want to refer to your vehicle's owner's manual to check roof capacity to see what it can actually handle. When it comes to the dimensions of the bar, it's going to give us a width measurement of 3 1/8 of an inch, with a height measurement of 1 3/16 of an inch. When it comes to the length of the bar that's really going to vary depending on your application. These bars are available here at etrailer.com, and they're sold in different lengths. The bars are available in a 41 inch, 44 inch, 49 inch, 54 inch, 59 inch, 65 inch and 71 inch lengths. They're going to be covered with a limited lifetime warranty. That's going to do it for today's look at the Rhino Rack Vortex Arrow Crossbar with the matte black finish.
