Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar for 2014 GMC 1500

Updated 06/22/2021 | Published 06/18/2021

Question:

I want to make my truck more stable when towing my 24ft Enclosed car hauler. The trailer has an aluminum frame. The manufacturer says that a weight distribution hitch with sway control cannot be installed on the trailer. I experience lots of land drift in crosswinds and from tractor trailers. I have jounce springs installed, my trailer is level. I cant change my load much to change tongue weight. I dont really experience trailer sway under normal towing. My question is: will the Roadmaster swaybar help correct this condition? Thanks

Yes, the Roadmaster Rear Anti-Sway Bar, # RM-1109-169 will help in this area. This will help to minimizes side-to-side movement and improve overall stability of your vehicle, diminishing the effects of crosswinds and passing vehicles.

If the manufacturer is stating that you can not use a a weight distribution type hitch with your trailer see if the Curt Friction Sway Control, # 17200 is compatible. this comes with mounting plate or you can use the Curt Ball Mount w/ Sway Control Tab for 2" Hitches # D320 or the # 7390.
