Expert Reply:
The Curt Custom Trailer Wiring Harness, Part # C55336, is a plug-and-play no-splicing trailer wiring harness that allows connection of a trailer with a 4-pole flat connector to one of the Honda, Acura or Isuzu vehicles listed on the product page. The harness takes in signals from the tow vehicle lighting system and sends the appropriate corresponding signals to the trailer lights through the 4-pole connector. Adapters are available if your trailer happens to have a different type of connector.
Since this is a custom plug-in harness made specifically to fit the compatible vehicles, no cutting or splicing of wires is needed. The harness connects to the tow vehicle wiring (located in the rear cargo area) with a simple plug-in connector. If your vehicle is one of those listed on the product page then you will not need anything further to connect the tow vehicle lighting system to your trailer lights.
