Question:
Hopkins 4-pole says it’s compatible, but I have a boat that has a 7-pole plug. It requires at least the 5 pole for the electric surge brakes.

It sounds like you need the Tekonsha OEM Replacement Vehicle Wiring Harness w Brake Controller Adapter part # 22121 which is a direct plug-in 7-way compatible with a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan. It will also require the part # 18138 for mounting. The reverse light wire from the 7-way will have to be tied into the reverse light circuit on the vehicle behind the tail lights. This is what releases the brakes while reversing.
