I BUYING A 14000LBS TRAILER BUT WILL NOT BE OVER 10000 LBS SINCE I BEEN PULLING A SKID LOADER WITH A TK10U TRAILER FOR YRS , BUT THE AXLES ARE BENT FROM A WRECK THAT SOMEONE RAN A STOP SIGN AND BENT THE AXLES AND NEVER SEAM TO BE RIGHT, SO I FIGURE NOT BLOWING TIRES ALL THE TIME AT 250 MILES FOR A SET OF 4 TIRES COST TO MUCH, BUT ALL MY TRUCKS ARE A TOW ING RATE OF GVWR 10000 LBS BUT THE NEW TAILER IS 14000 LBS BUT WILL BE LIGHTER ON TRAILER FROM THE TK10U IS LIKE 4000 LBS SO WHEN I SCALE I AM 12500 LBS THIS IS TRUCK AND TRAILER COMB WEIGHT NOW WITH OLD TRAILER, BUT NEW TRAILER WILL BE ABOUT 2400 LBS ALUMINUM TRAILER THE 1997 F350 DOUBLE WHEELS IN BACK AND SINGLE IN FRONT, 10 PLY TIRES 1999 F 250 4X4 REG CAB 7.3 TURBO AND WHAT WOULD BE BEST BREAK CONTROLLER FOR THE 1999 FORD.

From the weight capacities you listed, I definitely suggest the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. This can handle up to 4 axles with brakes and with the custom pigtail # 3035-P, it will plug directly into the port under your dash. This will also handle electric or electric-over-hydraulic trailer brakes if ever needed.
