There's a few steps you can roll through to troubleshoot your 4,500-Watt Portable RV Generator - 3,600 Running Watts - Propane or Gas - Electric Start Item # 333-0005 not wanting to start:
1. Check to make sure there's enough fuel.
2. The carburetor might be clogged. A clogged carburetor is most commonly caused by leaving fuel in the generator for a long period of time. The fuel can clog up the carburetor and prevent the engine from starting. If the carburetor is clogged, try cleaning it with carburetor cleaner.
3. The battery on it could be dead. It has an electric start so it requires a battery to start the generator. You can try jumping it to solve this issue.
4. Check the fuel filter/water separator. Sometimes, fuel filters get clogged. And that's what they're there for - to prevent debris and from travelling from the fuel line into the generator.
5. You could have a clogged fuel line. You'll need to take it off to check if you have any dirt or debris in the line.
6. Check your spark plugs. they could be rusted or worn out and damaged and in need of replacement.
7. Check the air filter. The air filter could be clogged and caked in dust and need to be cleaned or replaced.
If these steps don't fix you issue please reply back and we can further diagnose the problem.
