Question:
The metal strip below the door of my Travel Lite 960rx is only 2 inches wide. Can this bracket be mounted?

It is too small of a space to fit the TorkLift GlowStep Stow N' Go Scissor Steps w/ Landing Gear - 4 Steps - 375lbs - Black Bracket Item # TLA7834 but you can instead mount it to the bumper of your camper like in the attached picture.
