The install of the Pop & Lock Power Pop Remote Keyless Entry Kit for Hard Tonneau Covers # PAL9000 that you referenced does not require removal or replacement of any existing struts. Basically it just releases the latch like how the cover works now but does so with a remote or button instead of manually doing it. It does not auto raise or anything like that.
