The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13381 will fit your 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan with no modification unless your Tiguan has excess sealant in the areas where the hitch will mount. The receiver will bolt on to existing weld nuts that are in the frame of most Tiguan's. If your model does not have the factory hardware for the receiver the kit includes the necessary hardware to install on your Tiguan.

I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118811 to allow for you to haul a trailer with a 4-way flat connection for your lights. This will also be helpful for using Auxiliary Lights # C53201 in case your bike rack or cargo carrier blocks the taillights on the back of your Tiguan.
