Can Tekonsha Prodigy P3 90195 Be Installed In 2019 Ford Ranger W/ Factory 7-way Connector?

Does this Tekonsa P3 brake controller work with 2019 Ford Ranger? What is the big difference between the Smart Tow package and Tow package for the 2019 Ford Ranger?

Yes the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 you were looking at will work perfectly in your 2019 Ford Ranger with the factory 7-way connector.
In your truck Ford did not add a factory trailer brake controller port, but underneath the dash above the brake pedal you will find four wires that will get connected to the trailer brake controller.
The four wires should be blue, yellow/red, white/purple, and white and will get connected to the # 90195 harness as follows:
Black wire of controller to yellow/red wire on truck
Blue wire of controller to blue wire on truck
Red wire of controller to white/purple wire on truck
White wire of controller to white wire on truck.
The smart tow package means that there is a computer linked to the 7-way connector which detects when a trailer is connected, and will pop up an error code if it detects any issues with the connector/trailer wiring.
The towing package means it has a trailer hitch receiver and a trailer connector.
