Question:
Total trailer towing n00b here: I recently discovered that the model of RV trailer I would like to purchase requires a 7-way connector. I already have the 4-pin wiring harness, but when I was ing my hitch, I opted for the Curt # C13410 model because it was low-profile, and I loved the idea of a nice, clean installed look because, apparently, Im picky like that. I love the idea of the ETBC7 kit with the no-drill bracket, but I am uncertain if I could make that work with the hitch up inside the bumper instead of hanging beneath the spare tire well. Do you all know an alternative, or know of a way to make it work? Id rather not have to buy a whole new hitch to make this happen.

We have just what you need.
Since the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13410 on your 2012 Subaru Outback has a hidden crosstube that is hidden behind the rear bumper and plastic underbody trim you will need to use the Curt Easy Mount Bracket for 4- or 5-Way Flat and 6- or 7-Way Trailer Connectors - 2" Hitch # C58000 which will mount directly to the receiver.
This will allow the # ETBC7 to be installed and mounted without needing to use a different trailer hitch receiver.
You mentioned that your RV has a 7-way connector, if it has a 7-way connector because it has trailer brakes you will also need to add a trailer brake controller. I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195 as it is an extremely reliable controller with great features like an easy to read LCD screen and built in diagnostics that are easy to read and understand.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
