Question:

Hello I busted my yakima slimshady clamp driving into my garage. I want to replace it with new clamps, however the mechanism is different on my stock hardware vs the replacement parts. On my stock hardware, there is a hole in the bracket for a bolt. A nut sits in the top of the clamp assembly to attach the clamp to the bracket with a bolt. There is no nut in the replacement clamp hardware. How does that hardware attach to the bracket? Id assume I can use my old bracket, unless that hole will be an issue with the new mechanism? Thanks

To attach the brackets to the Replacement Clamp Assembly for Yakima SlimShady Roll-Out Awning Item # 8880737 you will slide the the brackets on and tighten them onto the clamps by tightening the screw above the clamp knob. Then you'll be able to attach your new clamps to your Yakima SlimShady Awning - Roof Rack Mount - Clamp On - 42 Sq Ft Item # Y36VR.

If your brackets are damaged you can replace those as well with the Replacement Mounting Bracket for Yakima SlimShady Roll-Out Awning Item # 8880736.
