Can Demco 8705001 Hydraulic Disc Brake Actuating Trailer Coupler Be Welded

Question:

Can this actuator be welded on? This is a picture of my current trailer and I need to replace it. It is an Atwood 85778 max tongue load is#1000 and max trailer GVWR is#7000

Alghough the Demco # 8705001 which we sell as part # DM72VR is meant to be bolted on, it can certainly be welded in place. Because of the zinc plating, you'll want to be sure to do your welding outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. If you MIG or TIG weld, you'll want to grind the coating off where the welds will be located.
