How to Mount a Karrite Cargo Box if There are No Holes for the U-Bolts

Question:

I have one that is over 20 years old and it doesnt have the holes to use u brackets. Can you please help me to figure out how to install with the brackets

If your older Karrite Cargo Box does not have holes for your u-bolts, then you can drill in the holes.

We've found a good method for this here that involves centering your box on your rack and marking the bolts with paint. From there, you can drill into the box for the bolts.

I've linked to a video below that demonstrates how to do this on the Trunx Rooftop Cargo Carrier, part # TRX44FR. It's for a different box and a different reason, but the application is the same. At the 12:36 mark, you will see this in action.
