Question:
Hello, So I currently have a Convert-A-Ball hitch which has been great and does help provide the trailer a cushion when starting and stopping - I ran across the new Rebellion XD and that seems like it would help in the same fashion forward and back - In your opinion do both these products do the same thing ? - and what would the benefits be of changing over to the Rebellion XD? Also how heavy does the trailer need to be to benefit from the XD to compress it’s system? Thank you

The Convert a Ball ball mounts like the # AMSC4HD and the Curt Rebellion XD # part # C45949-2516 offer cushioning in a similar way (front to back cushioning) but the Curt Rebellion is going to offer superior cushioning to the Convert a Ball. The reason I say this is because most of the time your ball mount would not be free to move enough for the cushioning to be effective since the tongue weight of the trailer on the ball mount prevents movement where it would be needed. With the Rebellion XD there is no friction created where the cushioning takes place so it will move freer and would provide a much more effective cushioning.
