Switching Ball Sizes for Trailer Valet XL

Question:
Thanks for the quick delivery. Still having some issues though. To start from the top: • I accidentally bought the Trailer Valet XL with the 2-inch ball for our 2 5/16 trailer hitch my bad, I was thinking of the 2-inch hitch receiver on my truck • So next I purchased this Trailer Valet 2 5/16 ball thinking I could swap it with the 2 inch one and be good to go. However, when I went to hitch up the Trailer Valet XL the base plate is nowhere near the trailer hitch so can’t be tightened securely. Attaching picture for reference. What am I missing here? Do I still have the wrong components. The trailer is a 2021 Winnebago Hike 172BH in case that is pertinent. Thanks in advance for your help!

Since you bought the wrong ball size version of the Trailer Valet XL you'd need to go with the base assembly and 2-5/16 inch ball part # TVBB25 since the collar of the ball you have is too wide for it to fit under through the washer of the assembly when you go to tighten the base assembly.
