Installation of Atwood RV Water Heater

Question:

Have 94 E350 Jayco Eagle RV with Atwood 6 gal. gas/elec. HW heater.... What extras do I need with your Dometic RV Water Heaters - say, the DMC74FR, 1 Are the interior electric switches included ? 2 Is a check valve included ? 3 What warranty if self installed... no affordable service centers available to me, only auto shops.... have 40 y/o son who is ASC cert., HVAC etc. not a backyard mech. ?

Installation instructions are included with the Dometic RV Water Heater, # DMC74FR and from what I understand is not greatly difficult for a knowledgeable/trained person to install but for safety above all things, gas leaks and the harm that comes from such, is cause for the "Note: Installation and service must be performed by a qualified installer, service agency, or gas supplier". If this is not abided, then warranty will most likely be voided.

Since you will be using this as a replacement, not a new install, the current switches will most likely be able to be used, provided they are still in proper working order. You may or may not need a trim kit, that is dependent on your dimensions. The cutout for this is 12-3/4" tall x 12-3/4" wide x 19-7/8" deep.
