Using a Weight Distribution Hitch on a 2012 Kia Sorento V6

Question:
This product has weight distribution specs specified by the manufacturer. However the fit listings lists nothing but unibody designed vehicles. Further research, weight distribution is not allowed on unibody designed. The 2012 Kia Sorento user manual makes no mention of Weight Distribution and the dealership is worthless. So I guess my question is, if I have a 2012 Kia Sorento V6 LX, I have this hitch installed, am I safe to use weight distribution? Trailer and tongue weight is within limits. 2500 lbs trailer / 290 lbs tongue weight

The Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver # 75684 that fits your 2012 Kia Sorento has the weight distribution rating on the hitch as Draw-Tite has tested the hitch to a weight distribution rating but they do not rate the vehicle.
I did see in the owners manual that while they don't say it can or can't be used with weight distribution they did refer to using a sway control with the vehicle. For that reason I would recommend not using a weight distribution system for your Sorento.
For adding a Curt Friction Sway Control # 17200 you will need a Curt Ball Mount w/ Sway Control Tab # D320. This will reduce trailer sway from wind and large vehicles that you will experience when driving.
