Question:
I am trying to install a wireless Haloview CA 109, license plate camera in my Ford King Ranch 350, diesel. It only has 2 wires to power the unit: 1 black and 1 red. I am thinking that my best option is to connected to the yellow and black wires of my trailer connector to activate the camera when I am backing up. Is that correct? or there is a better option. Thanks.

If you wanted the camera to power up when the vehicle is shifted into reverse, you'd tap the red camera wire into the reverse lamp circuit and ground the black wire. If the reverse lamp signal is active on your 7-way trailer connector, you can simply tap the red wire into the circuit feeding the center pin of the 7-way. Ford typically uses a black wire with a pink stripe for the reverse lamp circuit, but you'll want to use a circuit tester like # PTW2993 to confirm.
