Can I Use a Weight Distribution Hitch on a Large Aluminum Trailer

Question:
I am interested in the best weight distribution setup for a Ford F-350 SRW pulling a 34’ triple axle aluminum trailer. The trailer with my normal load will be no more than 10k. With my load setup I expect at least 1000k to 1500k hitch weight. I also plan on possibly putting 1000k in the bed. With my old trailer a slightly smaller load would squat the rear and make the front camber out making resulting in steering float. The frame of the aluminum trailer is bigger than steel maybe 8 or 10” also I am not sure how the steel weight distribution will react with the aluminum of the trailer possibly damaging it? Please let me know you recommendations.

When it comes to using a weight distribution hitch on your aluminum trailer, the main concern isn't only the interaction of the two metals but a lot of occasions the aluminum frame isn't strong enough to be used with a steel weight distribution system. You will want to consult with the trailer's manufacturer to determine if your trailer can be used with a weight distribution system.
For a trailer with a larger frame size you would need a weight distribution hitch that used chain hangers instead of sandwich brackets; the best option for that would be the Curt Short-Arm Weight Distribution System with Shank - Trunnion Bar - 15,000 lbs GTW, 1,500 lbs TW # C17333. You would need to likely weld or bolt on the Chain Hangers for Curt Weight Distribution Systems - Bolt On # C17005 since the brackets would likely be unable to fit on the frame.
With all of that said, since squat seems to be the big issue here, you may want to consider adding a suspension enhancement. I recommend using the RoadActive Suspension # RAS3611-HD, which will work as long as you don't have the top overload springs on your F-350. These will do a great job of helping reduce sway and sag when your truck is loaded up, which helps reduce the steering float you're experiencing to the point that a weight distribution hitch likely wouldn't be needed. I prefer these to air bags since they're low maintenance and don't require adding a compressor system to keep them aired up.
I've linked a short review video of these you can check out, but that would be the first place I would start if you're towing a few different trailers since it will cover all of those without having to swap things out.
