Question:
I have the factory trailer plug and hitch on my GL450. Would like to install a brake installer that would use a harness that would not interfere or send a code to other systems in the SUV. Thanks.

There is one brake controller that I think is easily the best option for your 2007 Mercedes-Benz GL450 with the factory 7-way, which is actually a wireless brake controller from Curt:
- Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180
There are a couple of reasons I recommend the Echo, starting with the fact that there isn't an available plug-in wiring harness for your Mercedes. So what that means is to install it you would have to locate wiring, and hardwire a controller in.
The Echo # C51180 removes that as an issue, and will not interfere with anything else in your Mercedes. This is by far the easiest brake controller on the market to use because it is controlled with an app on your smartphone, and will simply plug into the 7-way on the back of your Mercedes with absolutely no additional wiring necessary. This also means no bulky brake controller unit in your cab, saving you space and the hassle of having to drill under your dash to mount it.
So because it is so easy to use while also providing really smooth and responsive braking, for your Mercedes the best option really is the Curt Echo Brake Controller # C51180.
I have added a link below to a video review for you to check out as well if you'd like to take a look.
