There are a number of base plate options available for your 1995 Suzuki Sidekick and your Roadmaster Falcon 2 Tow Bar # RM-520. They are dependent upon whether your vehicle is a 2-door or 4-door. The first thing you will want to do is check your vehicle owners guide to ensure your vehicle is able to be flat towed and if so, what restrictions may exist. In some cases, modifications will need to be made for the vehicle to be safely flat towed and your owners manual should have this information.
If your Sidekick is the 2-door model, I recommend the Roadmaster XL Base Plate Kit # 118-3. If you own the 4-Door version, I recommend the Roadmaster Base Plate Kit # 1007-2. Both kits feature a hidden bracket design which allows the drawbars to be removed when not in use but are not compatible with after-market air conditioners and the # 118-3 will not work with a brush guard. Plus, neither kit require welding for installation.
I have included a link to our FAQ page on Roadmaster vehicle-specific base plates.
To flat tow you Sidekick, you will also need safety cables, a lighting system, and a supplemental braking system. If you do not have a set of safety cables, you may be interested in the Roadmaster Safety Cables # RM-643.
For a lighting system, you have a couple options. If you plan to tow this vehicle often, I recommend the Roadmaster 6-Diode Universal Wiring Kit # 154-792-118158. It allows you to connect your tow vehicles tail, brake, and turn signal lights to your Sidekick and works with 3-wire systems. I have included a link to the installation instructions for this item.
If you do not plan to tow very often or would like an easier set up that does not require splicing into your vehicles wiring, you might want to go with the Optronics Magnetic Tow Lights # TLL21RK. They come with a magnetic base that will attach to any metal surface with a wiring harness that runs beneath your towed vehicle.
Finally, most states require a supplemental braking system when flat towing a vehicle. If you need one of these, you may be interested in the Roadmaster Even Brake Portable Proportional Braking System # RM-9400. It will not require splicing into your Sidekicks wiring and provides proportional braking for quicker and safer stops for less wear and tear on your vehicle and tow vehicle.
I have provided links to our FAQ pages on towing your vehicle and supplemental braking systems.
