For your safety chains I recommend the Curt Hook with Spring Loaded Safety Latch for Safety Chains and Cables # C81288 which have a weight capacity of 5000lbs each making them perfect for your trailer that weighs in at 6500lbs. The # C81288 is sold in a quantity of one so you will need to order a quantity of two to have one for each safety chain.
The # C81288 is 5" long, the wide end is 1-3/16" wide, the narrowest point is 5/8" wide, and the bottom is 7/8" wide as shown in the included diagram.
You will need to make sure that your chain link is 5/8" wide or less to get the chain fully seated.
