I would be happy to make a recommendation for a replacement brake actuator for your 2006 Ranger Trailer Trailer, but I will need to know if your trailer has hydraulic disc or drum brakes.
If your trailer has hydraulic disc brakes the Dexter DX7.5 Drop-N-Go Brake Actuator - Disc Brakes - 2" Ball - Zinc Plated - 7,500 lbs # 099-175-20 is a great choice that has is zinc plated for superior corrosion resistance, and will bolt on to trailer tongues that are 3" wide.
If you have drum brakes I recommend the # 099-175-00 which has the same zinc plating, and still bolts to trailer tongues that are 3" wide.
Neither of these options have an brake lockout so you will need to make sure that your trailer has free-backing brakes.
I included a video for each of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
