According to Curt, their # C11354 class I trailer hitch is indeed a fit for the 2013 VW Beetle Convertible Turbo Diesel.

If you'll be using the hitch as a mounting point for a bike rack or cargo carrying tray, Curt's warranty stipulates that a stabilizing strap like part # 18050 needs to be used for all non-trailer loads.

If you'll be using the hitch for light-duty towing, you'll also need the following:
