What Are Nylon Bumpers Shown In Product Photo of Konig TH00023100 Tire Chains Used For

Konig Self-Tensioning, Low-Profile Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - D Link - CG9 - Size 100 I’m thinking about purchasing 2 sets of these chains. Just curious, what are the items shown in picture 3 used for? Thank you

What's shown in the 3rd thumbnail photo on the product description page for the Konig # TH00023100 Konig Self-Tensioning, Low-Profile Snow Tire Chains are the nylon bumpers that you can install in the chain links at the various points where the links contact the wheels on your 2019 Golf, preventing them from getting scratched up. These chains are a fit for the 235/35-19 stock tires on a 2019 VW Golf.

You'll want to check your owner's manual (I couldn't find an online copy without entering a VIN) to see if they have any advice or prohibitions regarding tire chain use. The # TH00023100 chains you'd looked at are classified as Class S, which some vehicle manufacturers specify due to the clearance they provide but you'll also want to check if they advise using chains on all 4 wheels, as some vehicle manufacturers don't.

I've linked to some install/demonstration videos for the chains you're asking about.
