Trailer Hub That Fits BT8 Spindle for 2,000 lb Trailer Axles TRU59FR

Updated 02/19/2021 | Published 02/17/2021

Question:

Hi. I have a trailer with a straight spindle with an 1 3/8 inch straight spindle. The hub is broken and I would like to replace it. My tire rims are 5 bolt on 5.5. I did find this spindle which looks like it has the same measurements as my current trailer spindle. Can you tell me what kind of hub I can get that will fit it and a rim that fits a 5 bolt on 5.5 please? TRU59FR

There are a number of different trailer hubs that fit the BT8 Spindle for 2,000-lb Trailer Axles # TRU59FR, though none with a 5 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern. The reason is that this spindle requires hubs with inner and outer bearings L44643, which are 1.000" diameter, and those all have a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern; here are the hubs that fit:

- Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly - 2K Axles # AKHD-545-2-1K

- Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2K Axles - 8" to 12" Wheels # AKIHUB-545-2-1K

- Trailer Idler Hub Assembly for 2K Axles - 13" to 15" Wheels # AKIHUB-545-2-LF-1K

So if you do have the same spindle (I recommend measuring it with a digital caliper where the bearings ride to ensure a fit), you would use those but would of course need different wheels that fit that bolt pattern, and I have added a link below to our selection of wheels with a 5-1/2" bolt pattern.
