Recommended Ladder Rack For Carrying Kayaks That Works W/ Tonneau Cover On 2017 Ford F-150

Question:

I have 2017 F150 SuperCrew 5.5 bed. I now own 2 12-ft kayaks and am looking for the best way to haul them. I also have a camper, so Id like a rack. I was look at the Thule xporter adjustable, but I dont really want to give up having a tonaue cover. Can you recommend something, or do I need to go big and get a full shell with rack on top of that? Thanks for your help!

For your 2017 Ford F-150 SuperCrew with 5.5' bed I recommend the Thule TracRac SR Sliding Truck Bed Ladder Rack - 1,250 lbs # TH43002XT-508. This will allow you to use two of the Thule Hull-A-Port Aero Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs - J-Style - Folding - 1 Kayak # TH849000 which will install in the t-slots and allow you to carry your two 12' kayaks.

The TracRac SR # TH43002XT-508 will still work with a tonneau cover as long as the cover mounts inside of the bed rails. If your current cover covers the bed rails you would need a different cover like the BAKFlip MX4 Hard Tonneau Cover - Folding - Aluminum - Matte Finish # BAK48329 which will cover and secure the cargo in the bed of your F-150 while still allowing you to carry your kayaks.
