Can ETBC7L Kit be Used When Towing Vehicle with Surge Brakes

Question:
Hello, I recently installed the ETBC7 WITHOUT connecting the blue electric brake controller wire and the yellow auxiliary 12V power wire. I also bought the Curt Wireless Brake Controller. I want to tow a boat that has hydraulic brakes on the trailer. They work greatexcept when I try and back up. How do I wire the ETBC7 so that the hydraulic brakes dont activate when I am backing up? Thank you!

If there's a wire that runs to the back of the actuator and leads to a solenoid right at the rear of the master cylinder all you need is the reverse light circuit activated on your 7-way and it will allow your vehicle to back up. So you'd run the yellow aux wire to the reverse light circuit of your vehicle to do this.
A reverse lockout solenoid prevents the master cylinder from building pressure when in reverse so that it can back up.
If you do not have a lock out solenoid let me know what brand of actuator you have and I can see what we have that would work.
