Curt Echo brake controller have any IP rating?

Question:

Does this Curt blue tooth brake controller have any kind of IP rating? If I was towing my offroad trailer, which sees a lot of dust, mud and potential short submersion thru a creek crossing, will it still work?

The Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Control # C51180 is weatherproof and holds up very well in various conditions, but does not have an IP rating. The unit is filled with epoxy resin, which will seal off the internal electrical components from any rain, snow, dirt, and mud etc. That being said, you likely will not have any issues. However, it is never ideal for the trailer wiring connector or brake controller to be submerged under water and should be avoided if possible.

This is a very nice brake controller that is simple to setup, requiring no wires to be ran to the cab of your vehicle. It is proportional, so it will brake your trailer in exact proportion to how you brake the towing vehicle. It connects through Bluetooth, but will still work if you lose connection to the device and will work in accordance to the last settings.
