Question:
Hi there, I’ve watched your videos covering the brake controller install in a Highlander. My question is this: Does the green brake light wire that you tied into also tie into the automatic braking that occurs with the adaptive cruise control and pre-collision braking? I want to make sure that my installation includes the provision that if those systems cause braking, without the driver pressing the brake pedal, the trailer brakes will be activated. I’m planning to install your Redarc Tow-Pro Elite brake controller. Thanks.

The trailer brakes will be activated automatically alongside with the vehicle's automatic braking from the pre-collision and dynamic cruise control on a 2015 Toyota Highlander when you splice into the stop light switch circuit at the brake pedal. If you want to avoid this you'd have to run a wire from the center stop lamp.
The Redarc Tow-Pro Elite Trailer Brake Controller part # RED44FR will be a great option and all you will need to complete this install is the Brake Controller Install Kit part # ETBC7. I installed the same kit on a 2019 model which will be the same and this video is below.
