How To Install a 7-Way Trailer Connector and Brake Controller On a 2017 Toyota RAV4

Question:

Hi there, Id like some guidance on the appropriate towing setup for my vehicle. I have a 2017 RAV4 hybrid with a tow hitch but need to add a 7 pin connection for a travel trailer. Im debating between the Curt Echo and a wired option like the Curt Spectrum. What would be the simplest and/or cheapest wiring setup for each of these?

In order to install a seven way trailer connector and brake controller on a 2017 Toyota RAV4 (All Models) you'll need to start with a four way, the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # 118578 which is plug-in-play. This can then be adapted to a seven way using the 4 to 7-Way with 4-Way Adapter part # ETBC7L. It will then have everything you need as well to install the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller part # C51180 which is the far better route due to the lack of modifications needed and the ease of install.

Will the Curt C56350 work instead of the T-One harness etbc7l mentioned above? I already have the c56350 is why I’m asking. Thanks
