We can get you set up with the parts needed to flat tow your 2017 Chevy Equinox that are the best value. It's definitely possible to get parts that are still quality but not the priciest and I'll make a list for you like you asked to make it easier.
- Base Plate Kit: Demco Classic Base Plate Kit # DM9518315
- Tow Bar: etrailer SD Non-Binding Tow Bar # e34ZR
- Wiring Kit: Heavy Duty Magnetic Tow Lights # TL21RK
- Fuse Bypass (4-Cylinder Models) # RM-76517 OR Fuse Bypass (6-Cylinder Models) # RM76511
- Supplemental Braking System: Brake Buddy Classic 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System # HM39494
The Demco Classic Base Plates will allow your Chevy to retain its clean look, and the etrailer SD tow bar is the best option because it has long arms which make it easier to maneuver when towing, along with integrated safety cables and an adjustable tilting head so a high-low adapter won't be needed. Having these features on a tow bar means you won't have to purchase them separately, saving you additional expenses.
The magnetic tow lights will allow you to have the basic stop and turn signals needed at a better cost while being less intrusive than a splice-in wiring kit. Your Equinox does need fuses to be pulled, hence the fuse bypasses required. As for the Brake Buddy Classic, it is the most cost-effective option for a portable braking system while also being easier to set up than other systems while maintaining effective stopping power.
