I am currently shopping for a Honda CR V and very likely buying a 2017 model. I need a roof rack system that has a load stop to insure any cargo will not move sideways off of the rack. Can you recommend a product that will work on a CR V with side rails and one that will work without? The rack is for a foldable ladder that weighs under 50 lbs.

If you find a vehicle that has the factory side rails, I suggest the rack to use would be the Rhino-Rack RVP Roof Rack for Fixed Mounting Points Vortex Aero Crossbars Part # RRRVP46. Its an excellent design, and does not have any excess hang over with the cross bars.
Now a vehicle with a naked roof or without factory rails, the Roof Rack by Rhino Rack includes the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars Part # RRVA137B-2, Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Legs for Vortex Aero Crossbars Part # RRRLKVA, and Custom DK Fit Kit Part # DK284 will be what fits the 2017 Honda CR-V.
You can add the Load Stops for Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars 5" Tall Part # RRRLH2 or the Load Stops for Rhino-Rack Aero/Sportz Crossbars - 4" Tall Part # S602. Both of the load stops will work with either roof rack. You will want to purchase two of whichever you decide on since they only come in pairs. That will definitely keep the cargo secure.
