Replacement Surge Brake Actuator For Tandem Axle Boat Trailer with Disc Brakes
Updated 12/29/2020 | Published 12/27/2020 >
Question:
I am needing to replace my surge brake actuator that has disc brakes on my tandem axle boat trailer. Looking at the actuators on your site, I believe I have a bit of a unique situation. The actuator on my trailer is naked. There is no boxy zinc housing around the module itself, the trailer itself is the housing. There are 2 mounting bolts that run through the trailer and actuator. These bolts are dual purpose, they bolt the module to the trailer and are the roller bolts as well. The bolts through the top of the housing on the actuator to secure the brake fluid module and the and the rest of the unit bolt directly through the top of the trailer. Also, to help you better understand, the removable name plate that is stamped on the of the actuator behind the ball is mounted directly to the trailer. I dont know if the hosing for the units you sell is just something Id remove and then I can mount a new actuator? I am needing guidance. I have taken several pictures of my current unit, but dont see a way to send them to you on this comment page. Perhaps once you get back to me, I can send the somehow. Thank you, I look forward to your reply.

Thank you for the pictures!
I sent them to my contact at Titan and he said that you have the Titan Model 60 but that it was installed inside of the trailer tongue instead of on top of the tongue as designed.
He mentioned that you will be able to use the Titan Zinc-Plated Brake Actuator w/ Electric Lockout # T4745720 which will work with disc brakes, is rated to 6000lbs, and will accept a 2" or 1-7/8" hitch ball. Since your current actuator was modified to fit inside of the tongue of your trailer, there will likely be some modification required to complete the installation.
I included a video of the Titan # T4745720 for you to take a look at.
