Hi, 2012 Nissan Frontier. What is the difference between the 7-way trailer wiring harnesses that have relays e.g. C56226 and the ones that do not e.g. HM43534. Why would I need one vs the other?

The Curt 7-way kit part # C56226 that fits your 2012 Nissan Frontier that includes relays and harnesses is for the version of the vehicle that don't have the factory tow package and the Hopkins # HM43534 is for the versions of the vehicle that do have it.
The Hopkins also has a 4-way on the side of the 7-way so it covers both standard wiring configurations.
Basically the tow package means the vehicle already has the relays and harness.
