Do the jay low kayak carriers clamp tightly on to jet stream bars?

They sure do! As you can see in the provided photo, the Yakima # Y04073 JayLow kayak carrier uses a very substantial clamp to attach to the roof rack crossbars. Once the carrier is installed according to the linked installation instructions, the carrier isn't going anywhere. I've also linked to a video showing the carrier being road tested with a kayak loaded, you can see how stable everything is. In the video, the carrier is actually mounted to round crossbars, which would actually allow greater movement if the clamps didn't fit tightly.
