Where are Coils of Springs on B and W Turnoverball to Release Stuck Latch

Question:
We are trying to remove our hitch from the bed of our Ford F350. The handle over the drivers side back wheels pulls out but wont turn/rotate. Came across this while searching the problem: They handle under the driver side wheel pulls out but won’t turn like the directions say ?? Seems like this is the problem won’t it won’t come off ? asked by: Dominick B Expert Reply: ...When you are able to pull the handle on your gooseneck hitch back but you cant rotate it what is happening is that the there is a spring on the latch pin that is prohibiting you from pulling that pin out far enough. My contact said that they tell customers to cut a coil or 2 from that spring and you should be able to rotate the handle. Since you are not able to rotate the handle that is definitely why you cant remove your hitch ball. We cant see or access a spring anywhere. How on earth do you cut down the coil if you cant see or get to it? What else can we do? Thanks for your time and expertise!

I attached a picture that shows where the spring coils are that you'd need to cut on the B and W Turnoverball # BWGNRK1111.
