Question:
I own a 2001 F350 Short bed and am going to be purchasing a 5th wheel hitch. I noticed there are 2 different hitches for my truck RP50082-58 and 50043-6008. What are the differences between the two?

The main difference between 5th wheel installation kits # RP50082-58 and # 50043-6008 is the bracket design. While both sets of brackets fit your truck, the 50082 brackets fit more Ford trucks than do the 50043 brackets. Also we have a tech note stating that for the 50043 brackets there is one hole on the truck frame that will need to be enlarged. I have included links to the installation instructions and a link to a video showing a typical installation of the RP50082-58 kit for you. I have also linked the instructions for the 50043 brackets.
I have also included a link to the 5th wheel hitch main page for your truck.
