The Yakima BlockHead Single Bike Truck Bed Mounted Rack, Part # Y01117, is intended as a universal carrier that can fit the majority of bicycle sizes and types when mounted in a truck bed. The horizontal skewer rod is 9 millimeters thick; as long as the bike axles are not thicker than this the fork prongs will fit.

The typical trunk-mount type bike racks that mount to the rear of a passenger vehicle often do have compatibility issues with the curved frame tubes on beach cruisers. However, since the Yakima BlockHead carrier does not use the bike frame tubes to secure the bike to the carrier, this type of bicycle should not pose that problem.

The BlockHead uses the front fork as the mounting surface; you remove the front wheel of the bike and place the two fork prongs in the two openings on either side of the BlockHead and secure it with the quick-release lever. The adjustment thumbscrew enables you to match the carrier to your bike fork prongs for a snug fit. I have attached a photo and video of this item to illustrate.

Please do note that this part does not include the 1/4-inch hardware required to mount it, but it does include a paper template to assist in drilling the two holes in the truck bed.

You can perform a test fit of sorts before ordering by removing the bike front wheel and resting the fork prongs on the ground. The BlockHead raises the bottoms of the fork tubes about 1-1/4 inches off the truck bed when they are resting on the skewer rod, so as long as the large pedal sprocket will clear the ground with this 1-1/4 inches of additional height you will have no clearance issues.
