Question:
Is there a way to use an electric brake controller to activate the brakes on a vehicle being towed on a tow dolly? I wish to tow a mini van with a tow dolly across country west coast to east coast. But the law in most states says anything over 3000 lbs much have brakes on it. Thank you,

There are tow dollies out there that have electric brakes installed on them which were designed to work with a trailer brake controller like you mentioned. For that we have the Roadmaster Tow Dolly part # RM-2050-1. We also have options that have surge brakes that activate without needing a brake controller like the Demco Kar Kaddy part # DM9713045. The inertia of the tow vehicle stopping pressurizes the brake lines which applies the brakes.
