Question:
Hi there! I have been researching some chains for my new vehicle. I own a 2019 AWD Subaru Crosstrek. I am new to the state of Oregon where there are chain laws. After reading about tight fitment on Crosstreks, I wanted to make sure I am getting the right chains so I don’t have $$ of damage! My current tires are 225/60r17. I really like the diamond pattern chains and because of my car I think need class s, right? After entering my tire size and vehicle info this chain was an option that popped up. Is this a good chain for me and my 2019 Crosstrek? Konig Standard Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - D Link - CB12 - Size 104 - TH01221104 Thank you so much for your time! This site is incredibly helpful.

When it comes to vehicles with limited clearance in the wheel wells, Class S chains are required to keep the chains from damaging any of the components that sit close to the tires; they won't keep things from getting damaged in the event of a catastrophic malfunction but as long as you follow the prescribed speeds and proper installation of the chains the chances of that are extremely limited.
With that said, the Konig Standard Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - D Link - CB12 - Size 104 # TH01221104 you were looking at are a good choice for the 225/60r17 tires on your 2019 Subaru Crosstrek AWD and these chains are Class S compatible so they'll meet your need for low profile tire chains. The diamond pattern chains provide more chain contact, which ultimately leads to better traction and they also provide a bit less rough of a ride than ladder pattern chains, so they're overall a good option.
The premium option for your Crosstrek are the Konig Self-Tensioning, Low-Pro Snow Tire Chains - Diamond Pattern - D Link - Easy Fit CU9 - Size 104 # TH04115104, which are going to be easier to install and will provide better protection for your wheels from getting scratched up. These are also a diamond pattern chain like the other Konig chains but they just have some better bells and whistles that you may or may not need depending on how much you travel in areas where chains might be required. These would be the best option for your 2019 Subaru Crosstrek AWD.
I've linked some review videos of these chains for you to have a look at.
