Can Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs Be Used With a Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution System

Question:
Hello, I have a 2009 Saturn Outlook with the factory tow package. Looking to tow a 3000 lbs travel trailer, which may be around 3800 lbs loaded. I plan on using the Blue Ox weight distribution hitch WDH. Would it be recommended to use the Air Lift 1000 with the WDH? And if so, do you adjust the WDH before or after adding air to the air bags? Thanks!

Expert Reply:
Yes, you can use Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs with a Blue Ox SwayPro Weight Distribution System like part # BXW0550. In regards to setup, you'd want to put air inside the bags first and then apply tension to the spring bars to take up the rest of the slack. It is perfectly acceptable to combine air bags with a weight distribution system to fine tune a setup and there are many others that do this as well.
