How to Identify Replacement Bearings With Illegible Part Numbers

Updated 11/04/2020 | Published 11/02/2020

Question:

I pulled a wheel on the trailer today. Outer bearing scored and numbers on this bearing not very legible. Grease seal number is legible and is 6S 22500L. with other markings of 2014 19 TRP. Hub is 6 lug nut. I will pull the 2nd wheel and hopefully be able to get numbers.

Since your outer bearing is scored you will want to replace the bearing. If you are able to get the bearing numbers from your other wheel, let me know and I can give you the correct replacement bearings and any other components you need. Otherwise, you need to measure your spindle with a calipers to find the correct bearing diameters. A standard tape measure or ruler will not have enough precision to correctly read the measurements on your spindle. Refer to the diagram attached below on where to measure for the different components to find the correct replacement bearings.

If you need to replace your grease seal, the correct replacement is # GS-2250DL.

Check out the video and help article linked below on how to take apart your hubs and put them back together.
