How Does the Safety Strap on Curt #C51180 Wireless Brake Controller attach? Mine Is Missing.

Question:
The instructions say something about a restraint cable being used to hold the controller onto the car. Our controller did not have such a cable. What is the best way to hold the controller onto the car?

With the Curt # C51180 Wireless Brake Controller connector plugged into the tow vehicle, the safety strap wraps around the plug and receptical door so that it cannot come unplugged. I have attached a picture of the strap in use.
Regarding your missing strap, when the controllers ship, the strap is rolled up and is inside the connector trap door. I have included a picture of this location with the strap in it.
If your strap is not found there, then you can contact the nice folks up in Customer Service at 1-800-298-8924 and I am sure they can help you out. In the meantime if this item is out of stock, you can accomplish the same thing temporarily by wrapping a velcro strip around it.
