Turnoverball Gooseneck Hitch Rubber Cover

Question:

I am wondering if this part will leave the pin that would normally hold the ball in open to corrosion from underneath. BandW Rubber Cover for Empty Turnoverball Socket part # BWGNXA1715.

The B&W Rubber Cover for Stowed Turnoverball # BWGNXA1710 will not fit on the bottom of the Turnoverball unit. You don't want moisture to be held in, so putting a plug on the underside wouldn't be recommended even if it did fit. You want moisture to drain out of the socket. The hitch pin is designed to resist corrosion and the assembly is powder coated to resist corrosion as well. The cover is a great option for when the ball is flipped and it actually fits the underside of the ball not the socket. This will keep debris and weather out of the connection and still allow anything that makes its way into the socket to also exit it.
