Can Any Mechanic Install a Curt Trailer Hitch
Updated 10/06/2020 | Published 10/05/2020 >
Question:
Installation of receiver hitch requires pulling a carriage bolt through a larger hole to the smaller hole toward the rear of the vehicle. Your video uses a coiled wire. Is this part of the instructions? Would a mechanic with not much relevant experience, who might resist watching your great video, think of this? Is a coiled wire to pull bolts something that most mechanics would readily Know? Overall, would a typical mechanic, who might not listen to may advice readily figure this out via instructions that come with the hitch? Thanks,

The Curt Trailer Hitch Receivers like part # C11681 which is a fit for a 2013 Honda Accord are designed so that anyone can install it. It requires almost no prior mechanical knowledge nor do you really need any special tools in most cases. The professional installation time is listed at 30 minutes whereas the novice install time is listed at 60 minutes for this particular application so it is definitely one of the easier ones to install.
In regards to the fishwire technique, most have likely not done this before but would have no problem doing so with the included instructions.
